This year's keynote speaker will be Rachel McAnallen. Known simply as Ms. Math, she is the founder of The Institute for Math Mania. Her unique perspective and love of math have been enjoyed by many in her presentations around the nation. Don't miss her speaking engagement with UCTM on November 19!
 
Nature by Numbers

This new video by Cristóbal Vila beautifully illustrates how mathematical properties, such as the Fibonacci Sequence, are all around us in the natural world. We loved this awe inspiring combination of mathematics, nature, and art!

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland provides the theme for ULME 08-09. The captivating book, first published in 1865, began as a story told by a young mathematics lecturer to the three Liddell sisters, ages 8 to 13 (including 10-year old Alice), during an afternoon of rowing on the river. Later published under the name Lewis Caroll, the stories contain a variety of mathematical themes, jokes, and puzzles. Each ULME problem is based in an Alice context focusing on the Algebra NCTM content standard.
