National Board Certification is awarded to teachers who meet or exceed rigorous teaching standards as demonstrated through portfolio and testing through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
National Board Certification promotes five core propositions. Proposition 1: Teachers are Committed to Students and Their Learning Currently (2009), a fee of $2,500 plus a $65 registration fee are required to complete the National Board Certification process. Some scholarships are available through the Utah State Office of Education and local school districts.
