Meet UCTM President, Christine Walker (2008-2010)
Christine has been an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Utah Valley University since August 1992. She has a B.A. in Mathematics & Education with a minor in History and Computer Science and an M.A. in Mathematics from Brigham Young University, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Utah State University. Dr. Walker has taught mathematics at Wasatch Middle School in Heber in Wasatch School District. She holds a level two license, mathematics endorsement level 4 for Secondary Education in the State of Utah. While at Wasatch Middle School she re-wrote the Geometry curriculum and served as Department Chair. At the undergraduate level she has taught Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Introduction to Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Statistics, Differential Equations, Methods of Secondary School Mathematics Teaching, and supervision of field work and student teachers. In addition to the Utah Council of Teachers of Mathematics, she is also affiliated with Mathematical Association of America (MAA), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Utah Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (UAMTE), American Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE), and National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM).
